The combination of the business process management discipline with aspects of the Internet of Things promises higher levels of flexibility, efficiency, and responsiveness. However, a number of challenges arise, of which the correct linking of high-level business processes with low-level events is just one. This seminar analyzes current algorithms, methods and techniques in this realm. For instance, we are interested in the application of process mining techniques in industrial IoT settings.
Recommended prior knowledge:
Basic knowledge of Computer Science and good, solid mathematical background needed (e.g. set theory, logic, automata etc.). Knowledge in process mining, process discovery, conformance checking, e.g. lecture Business Process Intelligence (BPI) required.
